Alternative to React Hook Form

If you’re reading this sentence, you likely haven’t had a good experience using React Hook Form. Me too. Every time I hear about a library aiming to improve the experience in developing forms, I can’t manage my expectations accordingly and get frustrated. Trying React Hook Forms, I noticed a more…

Quem serão as pessoas do time para as…

The alternative to StorybookJS

Some time ago, I needed to document UI components at the company where I worked and I thought Storybook’s experience very uncomfortable. The imperative way of documenting components, the high dependency on add-ons and the disappointing application it generates were the main issues for me. I thought it could be different and much better. So I have been developing Pitsby ever since. Pitsby is an open source tool and will be officially launched soon. If you want to try a very simple and declarative tool that generates a more developer-friendly website than Storybook, visit Pitsby’s website and subscribe to be notified.

Garrafas e princípios. Como melhor organizar CSS.

You can also read it in english.

Webpacking environment variables

This is a complement to a previous post about bundling environment variables using Gulp. Keeping with the same expectation of maintaining a simple, easy to understand and crystal clear way to manage environment variables in the browser without having to make any trick or write unnecessary code, I show below…

Components beyond reuse

We are living times where the Model/View/Controller concept is getting more and more obsolete making Component-Based approach the new standard to develop web applications now. However, as well as Component-based has become a so popular concept, I still see a lot of developers understanding components in a surprisingly weird way. …

Handling environment variables in the browser

UPDATE If you’re using Webpack to bundle your application, refer to this more recent post: Webpacking environment variables. Front end projects usually make use of external resources through URLs, API Keys, etc. Those things may change depending on which environment you are running your code. If you are in a…

Avoiding traps in event-driven programming

Every developer knows the importance of keeping the code as much decoupled as possible. Loosely coupling drives your code to smaller responsibilities and, consequently, granular objects which bring us fast understanding and easy maintenance. …
